Why are Black Cats considered as Bad Luck?

You’re walking home from school through a path in the woods. As you reach the end of the path, you suddenly stop. 2 wild golden eyes look at you, and a cat figure is coming out of a bush. It stares at you. You stare back. The black cat runs away, into the bushes. You sprint home worried. Did you just catch bad luck?

The Answer is: No!

For black cats, it’s really rare and lucky to get adopted, since there is a silly superstition that they bring bad luck. But here’s a question: If other cats aren’t considered bad luck, why are black cats considered bad luck? What’s the answer to that? No answer! That is why black cats, like any other cat, do not bring bad luck to people at all! But one nonsense answer is that they are known to be a witch’s pet cat! And a witch is considered evil! But do cats have any mind of that? Are witches real? No and no! That is why black cats are not considered bad luck!

Good Luck and Bad Luck

A black cat running away from a human? Bad luck? Please. A black cat approaching a human? Good luck? Seriously? All cats are scared of humans at first sight, and for other cats it’s not considered bad luck! A brave cat will approach a human, and it’s not considered good luck! Keep it simple, people! It’s no earning any sort of luck if a black cat runs away or approaches you.

As said earlier, it’s rare and lucky for a black cat to get adopted. Why? Because of the Bad Luck Superstition. So, it’s a good suggestion: If you ever adopt a black cat, why don’t you name it Lucky?

So, the black cat (‘Lucky’) is coming to you. It actually is lucky, in a way that ‘Lucky’ likes you. It’s not every day that you meet a stray cat that likes you, right?

So, ‘Lucky’, is not bad luck anymore! Like he/she ever was.

This all explained that black cats, like any other cat, is bad luck, or good luck. They’re just a cute, simple cat who just might want to get adopted.

But there is more of how they became bad luck! (No, not became, but were thought as bad luck…)

Pope Gregory: The Most Tiresome Cat Damager of Them All

Poor, poor black cats & kittens! One was because of who? Pope Gregory XII, a very tiresome pope that brought in some silly stuff of black cats, and NEARLY MADE THEM GO EXTINCT, you hear. Yes, he nearly made them go extinct. Look at all the cats around today, look at your black cat or kitten, your friend’s black cat or kitten. Now think: How would it feel if all cats, including black cats, WENT EXTINCT? At Pope Gregory’s time, there were no more cats around (Europe), and the mice went like: “We’re cool, no more cats to eat us up!” You know, some people just don’t realize what cats and kittens do for us, and they don’t remember, either. They forget, or don’t realize, that cats and kittens get rid of tiresome mice in the house, or that they, according to scientists, slow down your blood pressure. Now, SOME PEOPLE THINK DOGS ARE HEROES, BUT CATS ARE, TOO!!!
